Hello, Blackland Prairie Families. We are so proud of our third through fifth grade Wildcats for their hard work on the RLA STAAR test this week. It was also wonderful to celebrate our Assistant Principals and practice Habit 7 by taking time to sharpen the saw.
Leadership Day is Friday, May 8, from 8:30 to 10:30 AM. Please RSVP to join us as our students showcase their growth.
STAAR testing continues with 5th Grade Science on April 14. Note that the campus is closed to visitors on all testing dates.
Upcoming performances for 2nd Grade (April 14), 1st Grade (April 15), and Kindergarten (April 16) all begin at 6:00 PM in the cafeteria.
Please complete your child's re-enrollment forms online and check the Lost and Found before items are donated on May 1.
Library books are due by May 8. Parents can now manage library accounts and view checkouts through the new Insignia system.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support of our students. We look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events.
Did you know our students are mastering real-world "Soft Skills"?
When you visit BPE on May 8th, you won’t just see classrooms; you’ll see Habit 6: Synergy in action. Our student ambassadors are preparing to greet you with firm handshakes and clear eye contact, while our keynote speakers tackle the "big fear" of public speaking head-on. You’ll even get a one-on-one look at their Leadership Data Notebooks, where students use Habit 5 to listen and share their academic growth with confidence.

Nurse Krissy truly goes above and beyond in supporting both our students and staff at Blackland Prairie. Whether she is responding quickly to a medical need or advocating for the well-being of others, she always does so with a warm smile and a positive attitude.
We are so grateful for the care and compassion she brings to the Prairie every day. Please join us in celebrating Nurse Krissy for her incredible dedication to our Wildcat family!

We are thrilled to share some wonderful news with our community. Assistant Principal Mandi Vogel has been named the 2026 National Outstanding Assistant Principal of the Year for Texas!

At BPE, being a Lighthouse School means our students take the wheel. Our Student Lighthouse Team has spent months practicing Habit 2: Beginning with the End in Mind to architect every detail of this event. From setting "Wildly Important Goals" (WIGs) to organizing the schedule, these young leaders are proving that they don't just learn about leadership—they live it. Come see the "behind the scenes" of their hard work!
Please click here to RSVP and join us on Friday, May 8th from 8:30 – 10:30 AM

All Wildcats are invited to wear their favorite pajamas to school this Thursday. Let's make it a comfortable day of reading as we honor the hard work Ms. Craig does for our students and library.

If you weren't able to join us this morning, don't worry! We would like to invite all other new families to join us for our afternoon session. We cannot wait to welcome more of our newest students to the Prairie!

- Volunteers are needed for the Kindergarten and 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony Committee to help make these milestones special.
- STAAR testing begins in April for 3rd through 5th grade students, so please review the schedule to ensure your child arrives by 7:35 AM on testing days.
- We are focusing on math as our Wildly Important Goal this year and encourage you to ask your students about their specific math goals.
- Please remember our snack guidelines of one snack per designated time and water only in water bottles to support a healthy environment.
