Our staff is diving into a professional development session on effective math instruction. We are connecting this learning directly to our campus WIG (Wildly Important Goal) for the year. We look forward to implementing these new strategies to help all our students succeed in math.

Blackland Prairie Elementary is excited to host a Family Movie Night for our students and their families. This is a wonderful community event and a great way to enjoy a fun evening at the school. We will be turning the cafeteria into a movie theater for a special showing of "Harold and the Purple Crayon" (rated PG).

When I'm not in the classroom, I have a few hobbies that keep me busy. I love to go on cruises and explore new places, and I also enjoy getting creative with crafting. If I'm looking for a quiet afternoon, you can usually find me with a good book or a fun puzzle.
I'm really looking forward to a fantastic year of learning and growing with all of you!"

The library got some good news today when representatives from the RRISD Partners in Education Foundation notified Mrs. Craig that she had won a $2,400 grant that she had applied for! This grant will be used to purchase books in foreign languages so that our emerging bilingual students can share literature with their families or read independently in their home languages.

My husband and I recently celebrated 21 years of marriage and we are proud parents to three amazing kids: a 7th grader at Ridgeview, a 4th grader at Forest Creek, and a 2nd grader here at BPE. When not in the classroom, you can find me with my nose in a book, exploring local thrift shops with my mom, or spending time with my family traveling.
I look forward to a fantastic year of growth, learning, and community!"
