We have an exciting week ahead at Union Hill!
Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration: Wear bright, beautiful colors for a special dress-up day on Tuesday as we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month!
Open House: Thursday from 4:30–6:30 p.m.. The Principal’s Meeting will be held at 5:00 p.m. in the Cafeteria, followed by a Spanish session at 5:30 p.m.
ADVENTURE DASH DAY: Friday, September 19th is the BIG day! Students should wear comfortable clothes, tennis shoes, and a BIG smile. They’ll run, climb, and conquer fun obstacles while building teamwork, confidence, and school spirit. Families are invited to come cheer them on! Here are the grade level times for Dash Day so you may plan accordingly!
Kinder/TWC 8:30-9:15 am
Pre-Kinder/ECSE/FCC 9:15-10:00 am
3rd Grade 10:00-10:45 am
5th Grade 10:45-11:30 am

Good afternoon, Union Hill families,
Earlier today, an elderly man experiencing dementia came on to our campus. He was not threatening or in any way a danger to our school, but staff did need to call police to help get him home.
I was able to sit and talk with the man outside to get more details and get him in contact with his family, and he left with the officers. There was no disruption to our campus operations, but many of our students would have seen the officers and the man leaving with them.

A new state law, Senate Bill 12, requires school districts to notify families about the health services we provide and to collect your permission before your child can receive these services at school.
Here’s what you need to know:
Starting September 1, 2025, we must have your opt-in consent on file before school staff, including nurses, teachers, counselors, social workers, and in some cases, coaches, can provide health-related services for your child.
Without consent, staff will not be able to perform even basic care, such as taking a temperature for a sick child or cleaning a scraped knee.
In an emergency, staff will always provide care, even without consent.
You have received an email from PowerSchool with instructions to update your child’s registration forms. If you have not received an email from PowerSchool, please check your spam or junk folders or contact your school's office.
The form includes two separate questions: one for health services and one for mental health services. You may choose to opt in for either, both, or neither, depending on your preferences.
Please take a few minutes to complete the form once you receive the notification. This ensures your child can continue receiving the health services you approve during the school day.
